DIY How To: Outdoor Kitchen Island

Outdoor kitchens are becoming more and more desirable as people want to entertain outside without the hassle of running back and forth to the kitchen.  The trusty gill is fine but limited when putting together a full meal.  Traditionally outdoor kitchens mean lots of time, money, maintenance, and space, which many people do not have.  So whats the solution?  Luckily the Habitat ReStore has just about everything you need to do-it-yourself without breaking the bank!  Here’s what you can find from the ReStore….

  • Sink
  • Faucet
  • Lumber
  • Gas Stove Top
  • Bucket
  • Hose (drinking water safe)
  • Construction adhesive
  • Plumbing parts

Next form a simple plan with measurements on what size you would like your new outdoor kitchen island to be, making sure you have proper space for stove top, sink, and workspace.  Make it as simple or complex as you want! Here are some examples….
