Habitat ReStore sells items that have been donated by homeowners, professional remodelers, building supply firms, retailers, manufacturers, and commercial and residential builders. Our goal is to create a sustainable income stream for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville while making a positive environmental impact by diverting these otherwise useful items from the landfill.

Habitat ReStore strives to sell quality new, used, and reclaimed building materials, furniture, appliances, landscaping and more. Below is a general list of items that we carry on a regular basis. Q: Does Habitat ReStore pick up donations?
A: Yes. We are happy to pick up your donation within the Metro Louisville area. If you have questions about scheduling a pickup, please call 502.805.1416 ext. 1.
Q: Do you charge a fee to pick up my donation?
A: ReStore no longer charges a fee for donation pickup, however, running our trucks continues to be expensive. We ask that you consider making a donation to help us offset these costs.
Q: Can I drop off my donation at the store?
A: Donations are accepted at all three ReStore locations during store hours. Please do your best to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing so we can assist you as needed and provide a donation receipt.
Q: Do I need to call the store before I bring my donation?
A: We ask that you call the store if you are bringing a large donation and will need assistance unloading. Please understand that larger donations will take longer to unload, and factor that into your plans.
Q: Why won’t you take furniture with stains or appliances more than 10 years old?
A: We resell all of the items that are donated to the ReStore in order to generate an income stream for Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville. We cannot accept appliances more than 10 years old, or items that are stained, torn, or broken, because they don’t have a resale value.
Q: Are my donations tax-deductible?
A: All donations to the ReStore are tax deductible. We will give you a form to fill out and keep for your records. Please note: by law, we cannot assign a value to the items that you donate. You will need to consult an appraiser, or visit www.irs.gov for more information.
